Cullowhee Baptist Church is a place of grace and peace. Already you may have noticed the same statement on this website’s home page. What it means is that when you come here, to visit or to stay, we receive you with grace, offer you peace, and trust that you will return Christ’s grace and peace to others as well. We are a welcoming, affirming, diverse congregation of students, children, youth, and adults. If you are looking for a place where your Christian faith can grow, this is the place for you!

We are convinced that Cullowhee Baptist is a unique church in the mountains of NC. We are a congregation with a heart for missions in our surrounding community and throughout the world. Worship is the starting point for our ministry. It grounds us in our discipleship as weekly we practice focusing upon God instead of ourselves. Our leadership is balanced among the women and men of the congregation. Our children and youth are valued as important members of the faith community in the present, not just in the future. We are Baptist in our history, progressive in our theology, and maintain our Baptist identity through our affiliation with the Alliance of Baptists.

Cullowhee Baptist is located on the campus of an 11,000-student state university, Western Carolina University. We are within the Nantahala National Forest and near both the Smoky Mountains National Park and the Pisgah National Forest. We think it’s paradise, or something close in its resemblance.
